Alienware connection « Thread Started on Oct 31, 2007, 8:33pm »
Just a heads up:
I have done some calling around and found a contact in the marketing division of Alienware, presumably someone who was involved in the promotion that uses the characters.
I have her name but I'm going to give her some time to call me back and answer the question on if they are the source of the characters or if someone inside or a vendor produced the images that are used in the campaign.
I have worked in both marketing and creative over the last 10 years and I feel confidant I can talk in a language that will get to the bottom of this.
I don't want to give my contact out because it would be counterproductive to inundate her with calls at this time.
If I don't hear back by Friday I will release the information I have and yall can have at it.

thanks banzai waiting with baited breath, inform her that the UFO community ( once u have the info) is a bit critical of alienware if it turns out they acquired it from elsewhere. If they are the originators of the information well thats something different. Ask em if the whole drone thing was a viral campgain

Got a response in my inbox this morning:
"Hi ___________,
Thank you for your email. It’s great to hear that our promotion has reach out to you and your Forum group regarding the CARET document. Alienware did NOT create the information regarding this phenomena or the CARAT linguistics. This is NOT an intellectual property of Alienware. The information has anonymously spread throughout the web for some time. We have taken the CARAT linguistics and have applied this as a marketing tool to draw attention to our promotion.
Regards,
(name withheld)
Director of PR Communications
Alienware Corporation"
So that's that.
I didn't list her name because the question has been answered and I don't want her bothered since I told her I would stave off further inquiries if she dealt with me, but if anyone REALLY wants to know you can send me a private message and I'll tell you. But consider this definitive.

Super initiative, Banzaï!! That gives a final response to those which claimed that Alienware was at the origin of the business of the drones and the Isaac's documents....
"I think it's time to open the books on questions that have remained in the dark on the question of government investigations of UFOs. It's time to find out what the truth really is that's out there. We ought to do it really because it's right. We ought to do it because the American people, quite frankly, can handle the truth. And we ought to do it because it's the law." It's been one year for now

Great Job!!!! Kudos for doing the footwork and bringing yet another truth to light. If AW is using this info as a derivative I think we might have at least one corporation believing this might actually be a real series of events too. Wouldn't make much sense for a company like Dell to make the copyright mistake even if it might bring out the possible hoaxer or hoaxers. The legal bills could pile up on a claim from the originators of the hoax. So we have here another remora of sorts, but a new twist with someone trying to make big bucks from this design. Not much to further the believers side but it does add a bit more credence tobelief when the fact is that a corporation believes this is a free for all design doesn't it?

That right there sounds like a disclaimer for the small chance of if and when any hoaxers come forward to try and sue for millions of dollars!

the concept of openware like that is for sharing and distribution you can add improve whatever...you just can't copyright it..if you do..then you can have a problem..it belongs to everyone. I would not take that tee shirt down below me off the racks yet. Banzai thnx I spread it around with credit to you too , it did make some people happy..including me..as I know there are a lot more players. I wanna thank alienware for their honesty and quick reply and sparing the id of that contact..secrecy is like a very big deal in these campaigns and you will not last long for leaking stuff.

No, it is is unbelievably a fact that this girl in the position she is in with marketing over there has not a clue about copyright law.
If another company or entity took Alienware's version of the LAP and the symbols etc, and used this material within their own marketing campaign, so much so that once could see much of it is an exact copy of Alienwares stuff, then there would certainly be copyright claims by Alienware to the ones who copied THEIR material.
Geeese... what do they learn in buisness school these days..

i think the alienware use of the stuff is just in good fun their promo for the contest hasn't gotten around to introducing the caret stuff yet, it will be interesting to see their take on it. * awards self "i told you so" award for thinking alienware wasn't behind the release of the documents

Nice, that they speak about it so frankly. Obviously they are glad, somebody noticed their actions.
So now we know, that Coca Cola did not invent father Christmas, but also that things get more mingled day by day. Google will spit out more and more confusion and babylonize the matter.

Well, I was gut sure that Alienware was just using the CARET phenomenon to its advantage, but to see this from their own people, is quite good for knowing the instinct is still alive and Kicking.
I just wrote on another thread that I wasn't ready to call this whole issue a Hoax. I think it might be at worst a disinfo op (IMHO ala SERPO), but, If I am allowed to bring the gut feeling to the table, It sounds right to me, since the moment of the docs. release.
